How Do Courses Work? For each campus, you may build your own schedule (1 course in the morning, 1 course in the afternoon) or choose an Academy where the courses are packaged together for you (Academy also includes Inc. Young Entrepreneurs).

In this course, students will learn the principles of economics through the prism of popular culture movements. This economics course will introduce students will explore microeconomics and macroeconomics through topics that include supply and demand, the division of labor, opportunity costs, fiscal policy, markets, private versus public sector, etc. by drawing from examples that are relevant to their everyday lives.

Who Should Take This Course? This course is an excellent way to acquire problem-solving skills and develop a logical, ordered way of looking at problems. It is also a necessary foundation for students considering a career in business, law, and consulting.
Highlights At the end of the course, students will be able to identify and define economic terminology and concepts. Students will be able to explain the difference between microeconomics and macroeconomics. Students will be able to identify the causes of prosperity, growth, and economic change over time and explain the mechanisms through which these causes operate in the economy.
Courses & Academies This class is one of our UCLA courses. Courses are single classes that are taken in the morning or afternoon. Students who take our courses select two courses to take during each session. Students will select a morning and afternoon course. If a student is attending a 6-week session, they'll select two courses per session 3-week session for a total of 4 courses during their 6 weeks. Generally, courses can not be combined with academies since academies meet both morning and afternoon.
