The finish line is in sight and in a couple of days we will be sending our students back home after an amazing summer here in Boston. Over the past few days, we have been working hard to make sure our kids go home full of New England and Boston experiences.
On Friday, our 2 and 4-week class students enjoyed a day at Brown University and the Providence Place Mall. As students were led through this prestigious Ivy-League college, they were shown the campus’ beautiful buildings, some even dating back to the mid 1700’s. Many of our students have expressed interest in Brown. The tour offered at Brown was a way for students to gain experience navigating another college town, ask questions, and learn about the school. Students rounded out their day in Providence by going to the local Mall, where they shopped at stores like Abercrombie and Fitch, American Eagle, and Hollister.
On Saturday students went to Six Flags New England and enjoyed all the excitement of an amusement park. It was a whirlwind of fun, and that wasn’t just because of the fast rides. Students raved about the 200 mph “Superman” coaster that rocketed them around the DC Superhero Themed section of the park, while others took a crazier ride on the twisting terror known as “The Joker” in the Gotham City section. For those who prefer the ground to coasting through the air, there were plenty of games to play and snacks to enjoy. Students won stuffed prizes at “Rock n’ Pop” and other arcade games located throughout the park. The day was full of smiles, screams, and some great stories on the ride back.
Today, students went back in time and enjoyed an all time classic - roller skating! The music was so much fun and made the skating that much better! The evening was wrapped up with a visit to the movies, where students enjoyed an eclectic mixture of films. While some students appreciate the gritty action of The Equalizer 2, or the heist story found in Oceans 8, others enjoyed singing along with the cast of Mamma Mia 2.
As we jump into out last week, we look forward to making a ton of memories with our Emerson Family! Be sure to keep up to date with all of us here at SD Boston by following along with the blog everyday.
