Farewell, But Not Goodbye! (Cambridge Underground Vol. 17)

Dear Family & Friends,

It has been more than a pleasure spending our summer with your child! The last 3 weeks have flown by with laughter and joy filled special moments throughout the halls and rooms of Murray Edwards College. Though farewell hugs have started, plans to reunite follow closely behind for several students.

This week, our students climbed to the top of King’s Chapel for a breath taking panoramic view of Cambridge, while also touring the many other colleges that make up the University of Cambridge. Other classes spent their last sessions together on field trip outings, wrapping up at the Grantchester Tea Garden Orchard, or preparing skits for the End of Program Talent Show. Through the hard work and careful planning of the entire Entrepreneur class, our students were able to donate £775 to a local homeless shelter.

Tonight was our student's last night in town along with their last ice cream with friends, dinner with friends, punting on the river, shopping in the Lion's Yard and Cambridge boutiques. Tonight was also the last night out playing soccer and volleyball at the Kelsey Center. Students took advantage of this time with their friends in town, while others took to scenic locations for photo shoots.

Though tonight was the last for many activities, tomorrow awaits with mountains of brand new fun activities. The afternoon will begin by attending our very own Summer Discovery student's debate session to be held at the Cambridge Union Society in town. Following this activity, our students will head back to their rooms to begin packing for either the journey home or for the extended London trip. Our students will then meet in the Orchard Court for a special surprise that will not fail to make lasting memories with all the friends they have made in Cambridge with Summer Discovery.

To our seniors, we wish you the very best in college, all your future successes and adventures. To our sophomores and juniors, start planning your next Summer Discovery trip with us for next summer!! Share your amazing memories and experiences at our Cambridge program with the University of Cambridge in England! Also, interested in beefing up your resume, consider partnering up with Summer Discovery as a Student Ambassador in your high school and local community.

Sincerely,

Summer Discovery

(Sam, Maura, Megan, Mike, Tearah, Ty, Matt, Spencer, Jess, Ari, and Diamond)
