Founded in 1284, the University of Cambridge is one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious universities. Ranked third in the world, Cambridge stands out as a center of cultural and academic excellence. Famous alumni include Charles Darwin, Prince Charles, and Sacha Baron-Cohen. With its ideal location just north of London, Cambridge is the perfect setting for a pre-college program.
At Summer Discovery Cambridge, we help you prepare for your transition from high school to college. Our pre-college study abroad program combines academics, athletics, and sightseeing to give high school students a great introduction to college and life in England.
During our 30 year partnership with Murray Edwards College at the University of Cambridge, we have provided incredible summer experiences for thousands of high school students. Summer Discovery students come from 43 states and over 60 countries. Join us and create long-lasting friendships with students from all over the world this summer.
Every day in Cambridge is unique, but here is a preview of what you can expect on campus:
8.30am On your way to class, head to the Dome Dining Hall where you can enjoy a traditional English breakfast with eggs, hash browns, yogurt, and even grilled tomatoes.
9.30am Grab your notebook and pen (or your laptop) and don’t be late for class.
12.00pm What’s one great thing about college? Long lunch breaks. Enjoy a leisurely lunch in town with friends, catch up on homework, or relax in the courtyard.
1.30pm Back to class, but not always in the classroom. Many classes take field trips around Cambridge to museums, local businesses, and art galleries.
3.00pm Your summer, your way. Sign up for the activities you want to do. Choose from sports, shopping, museums, and more.
6.00pm Enjoy dinner at the Dome Dining Hall, an architecturally unique dining facility. We really like the dessert bar.
7.00pm Movies. Shakespeare Plays. Dance Clubs. Karaoke Night. You will never forget the memories you make with your friends in Cambridge.
11.00pm Order a pizza, watch a movie, or play video games in the lounge. After a full day, it’s nice to relax with friends.
