At Summer Discovery's UT Austin program, high school students have the opportunity to engage in immersive courses or full-day academies taught by official UT Austin instructors and experts in their respective fields, providing students with hands-on experience and a genuine taste of college-level education. Academics span an array of different fields, such as medicine, civic engagement, neuroscience, engineering, fashion, psychology, sports management, music business, real estate & property management, and more.
Students also have the opportunity to participate in engaging site visits. For example, medicine academy students visit the Regional Simulation Center to get up close and personal with the medical field, even earning their first aid and CPR certification if they choose during the course of the program.
Likewise, students in neuroscience visit the acclaimed Anatomy Lab at the University of Texas as part of their studies, and students studying fashion, product development and merchandising visit Stitch Texas, an innovative apparel and product design and manufacturing company.
At the end of the program, students receive a branded Certificate of Completion from the University of Texas, Austin, a detailed letter highlighting their experience in the program, and a personal transcript.
