Sharpen your swing, practice your short game, and play with coach guidance in this three-week afternoon Golf Training Camp at UCLA.
Course Description
Two hours a day on the range, the practice green, and the course, with real coaching and plenty of time to play. This camp is for students who love golf and want to play more of it this summer, in a training environment modeled on elite sport academies but built for golfers at every level.
Each session mixes instruction with play. Golfers work on full-swing mechanics, short game, and putting, then take that work onto the course where coaches help with club selection, reading greens, and thinking through a hole. Along the way, golfers build a pre-shot routine, learn to manage a round, and pick up shots like chips, pitches, and bunker play, at a pace that matches their experience. Groups are organized by ability so everyone is challenged and nobody is left behind.
Balance, flexibility, and swing speed are built into the sessions, along with the focus and patience that make golf more enjoyable to play. Golfers finish camp with a more repeatable swing, new playing partners from across the program, and a game they feel better about.
This three-week afternoon sport camp meets for two hours daily as part of Summer Discovery at UCLA. It is open to residential and commuter students enrolled in the Summer Discovery program. This is a skills-and-play camp, not an academic course. Separate boys’ and girls’ sessions may be offered depending on enrollment.
What You Will Do

Golfers will leave with a more dependable swing, new playing partners, and a game they feel good about taking into the fall.
Why Golf Camp?
Golf rewards good habits, and most junior golfers build theirs without much coaching. Camp changes that. Two hours a day of focused instruction and play gives golfers real reps on the part of their game they most want to improve, whether that is the swing, the short game, or simply choosing the right club and committing to the shot.
It is also a great way to spend part of a summer. Golf camp is outdoors, social, and a natural break from the classroom. Golfers meet others from across the program, play rounds together, and come away with skills and confidence that last well beyond the summer.
Who Should Attend?
This camp is for students in grades 9–12 who already play golf, whether on a school team, in junior programs, or on their own, and want to keep playing over the summer. All skill levels are welcome and golfers are grouped by ability. Because sessions include on-course play, the camp is a better fit for golfers who can get around a course than for beginners picking up a club for the first time.
It is a strong fit for anyone who loves being on the course, wants good coaching, and is looking for something active and social alongside their Summer Discovery program.

Your Summer at UCLA
UCLA gives high-school students the opportunity to explore an academic interest while experiencing university life in Los Angeles, a city where entertainment, technology, business, science, and culture constantly intersect. The campus has its own community and rhythm while connecting students to a wider environment built around creativity and new ideas.
Students learn alongside peers, navigate a large campus, and gain independence through everyday choices and responsibilities. Time outside class expands the experience through friendships, campus life, and opportunities to notice which subjects and settings hold their attention. For families, UCLA offers a valuable combination of substantive academics, personal growth, and clearer direction about what a student may want to study, experience more deeply, or pursue next.
