Course Description
ACT/SAT Success Studio is a specialized test-prep course delivered by ESM Prep as part of the program held on UCLA’s campus. Before the program, students complete a questionnaire that helps ESM Prep create a personalized study plan around their goals, current strengths, and the areas that need the most attention. During dedicated two-hour sessions, students prepare for the ACT or SAT through a plan built for them rather than a one-size-fits-all class.
An ESM Prep mentor is present at each session to provide one-on-one instruction, answer questions, and tailor support to each student. Students practice test-taking strategies, target important concepts in math and grammar, and develop a pacing plan for working through each exam. Individual feedback helps them identify which approaches are working and where more practice will make the greatest difference.
The focused format allows students to make meaningful progress while participating in the broader program experience. At the end of the program, each student receives a recommended plan from ESM Prep for continuing their preparation at home.
This three-week specialized test-prep course is delivered by ESM Prep on UCLA’s campus in Los Angeles, California. It is available to residential and commuter students. Beyond class, students connect focused academic work with campus life, growing independence, and clearer direction about what students may want to study or pursue next. The program is developed by UCLA and offered in partnership with Summer Discovery.

Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for high school students who have completed 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade and want focused time and personalized support as they prepare for the ACT or SAT. It can support students who are beginning a preparation plan as well as those who want to strengthen an approach already in progress.
Students should be ready to complete a pre-program questionnaire, practice consistently, ask questions, and use feedback to adjust their strategy. It is a strong fit for students who want specialized test preparation within the broader program experience, without relying on a one-size-fits-all classroom format.
