Serve, rally, and play together in this 2-week volleyball camp with coaching for high school students in Summer Discovery’s UC San Diego program.
Course Description
Keep a rally alive, celebrate the point, and get ready for the next serve. Volleyball camp brings two hours of coaching and play into your day, alongside teammates who share your enthusiasm.
In this camp you will practice serving, passing, setting, hitting, and blocking, then put those touches together in live games. Coaches teach as you play, helping you read the court and move between offense and defense. Ability-based groups keep the pace suited to your experience.
Work on placing your serve, timing your approach to a hit, and spotting where an opponent might send the ball. Competitive drills build jumping ability, quickness, and conditioning. Calling for the ball and covering space with teammates are part of every good rally. Camp gives you plenty of chances to practice your own skills and enjoy making a play together.
This two-week morning camp for high school students is part of Summer Discovery at UC San Diego in La Jolla, California.

Why Volleyball Camp
A better pass can keep a rally going; a well-placed serve can start one on your terms. Camp gives you repeated chances to work on both, with a coach helping you make adjustments.
It’s also time to enjoy being part of a team. Get moving, meet other volleyball players, and share the satisfaction of a play that comes together.
Who Should Attend
For students who have completed 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade.
If you enjoy the energy of a good rally, spend more of your summer on court with players who feel the same. School, club, and recreational players train in ability-based groups. You should already know volleyball’s rules and rotations, since sessions move at game speed.
Your Summer at UC San Diego
UC San Diego’s coastal campus in La Jolla offers high school students a chance to experience university life in Southern California. Open spaces, distinctive architecture, and proximity to the Pacific Ocean make the setting memorable beyond the training sessions.
Outside camp, students can connect with new friends, join program activities, and develop independence as part of a university community. The surrounding San Diego region brings together recreation, culture, science, and technology, giving students a wider context for their summer experience.

After successfully finishing this course, you will be awarded a certification completion for your accomplishment.
