Course Description
This immersive course empowers students to think like entrepreneurs and build real-world business ventures using the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship’s award-winning curriculum. Participants will explore the entrepreneurial mindset, identify a business opportunity, conduct market research, define their target audience, and design a product or service that solves a real problem. Students will develop their business model using the Lean Canvas framework and gain experience with financial planning, marketing strategy, and pitch development. The program includes a guest speaker from the startup world, collaborative peer feedback, and multiple rounds of pitch practice. By the end of the course, students will deliver a professional business pitch during a classroom showcase, gaining confidence, communication skills, and practical tools for future success. This course is ideal for aspiring entrepreneurs, creative problem-solvers, and innovators eager to turn ideas into impact.

Instructor Bio
Luke Petro is a teacher at Chicago Hope Academy with a decade of experience teaching entrepreneurship in Chicago’s South and West Side communities. For the past three years, he has also taught an accelerated entrepreneurship program at the University of Michigan and played a key role in developing curriculum for summer programs. He lives on the West Side of Chicago with his wife and four children and enjoys reading, watching baseball, grilling, and pursuing his own entrepreneurial ventures. Luke is an investor, partner, and property manager with First Class Crash Pads.
