Open to students completing grades 9, 10, 11 & 12.
Tuition includes: Term fees, academic program, use of recreation facilities, housing, 3 meals daily while on campus (2 on weekends), activities and trips.
Not included: Application fee, $70 student ID/technology fee, airfare, airport transfers (available for $75 each way), class materials, meals eaten off campus, medical expenses, laundry, linens, blanket and pillow, souvenirs, and personal spending money.

As a high school student, you may not have much say in the classes you take during the year. The summer is your chance to explore what really interests you.
STEM Research and STEM Academies offer opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to highly motivated high school students. Choose from a variety of cutting-edge Academies or fascinating research topics.

Students choose Research for 4 weeks or one Academy for 3 weeks.
CU-Boulder faculty and graduate students mentor students in this non-credit program. Each mentor works with 1-2 students, based on research interest.
Students work 30-40 hours Monday-Friday on their research project. Work schedules may vary among different labs. Readings and assignments may be assigned prior to the start of the program. At the end of the program, students display a poster of their work during our expo at the Idea Forge. Parents and friends are welcome to attend.
Admission to the STEM Research Experience is selective and based on a record of academic achievement. Students must have 2-3 potential research project topics. Completed applications are evaluated on a rolling basis. Admissions decisions are made by CU-Boulder.
Non-credit STEM Academies are open to high school students completing grades 9, 10, and 11. They are taught by CU-Boulder scientists, faculty, and outside experts and meet for 4 hours, Monday-Friday.
STEM Academies include guided laboratory work, museum visits, field trips, guest lectures, and discussion groups. Outside of class readings, library and internet research, and written or oral reports are assigned. At the end of the program, students have the opportunity to present their experiments, reports, or products during our expo at the Idea Forge. Parents and friends are welcome to attend.
