Why you'll love our Renzulli Discovery Yale Summer Program

Summer Discovery is proud to offer Renzulli Discovery at Yale, a unique 3 week educational research experience for gifted and talented students. The Renzulli model places a greater emphasis on creative learning and investigative research, based on students’ passion, learning style, and gifted potential. Yale University, a private Ivy League research university located in New Haven, Connecticut. It is the third oldest university in the U.S. and one of the most selective. Notable alumni include 5 U.S. Presidents, 19 Supreme Court Justices, and 52 Nobel Laureates. Its leafy, 260-acre campus is the ultimate location for a unique summer enrichment experience.

How it works

After applying, students take the Renzulli Profiler designed by Dr. Joseph Renzulli to identify areas of giftedness. The results are shared with students and parents to help choose one of the following “Enrichment Clusters” or subject areas of focus:

  • Business and Entrepreneurship
  • STEM Studies
  • Creative and Performing Arts
  • Social Action

Students brainstorm with like-minded students and create a “Research Project Management Plan” to keep them on track as they explore real-life issues and propose solutions. Students conduct investigative research individually and collaboratively while being guided by their research mentors, who are facilitators that support the students through every step of their learning journey.

The program culminates in a presentation to the class and parents and is recorded for viewing and available online.
