Set on Wharton’s San Francisco campus, Essentials of Innovation provides a whirlwind introduction to the world of new venture creation. Throughout the intensive two-week summer program, students will learn the strategies successful entrepreneurs use to generate new ideas and develop them into disruptive high-growth ventures.

Students in our programs live in one of the Penn residence halls, which are only a short walk from the dining hall and academic buildings.
Living:
You will be part of a dynamic community of students and staff, living together in one residence hall. Undergraduate dormitories are fully air-conditioned and feature study and social lounges, laundry facilities, vending machines, and high-speed internet access. The residence hall is fully secured by 24-hour campus security and is only accessible with campus ID. The Wharton/Summer Discovery office is centrally located within the dorm to ensure access to counselors and support staff around the clock. The residence hall is a short walk to the dining hall, academic buildings, and Penn Park.
Dining:
Unique to Summer Discovery is our all-inclusive meal plan. Enjoy two meals daily (breakfast and dinner), while on campus. Choose from daily options at the salad bar, deli counter, pizza oven, burger bar, dessert bar, and more. Are you a vegetarian? Do you have food allergies? Special diets are not a problem.
On-Campus program fees include:
Full academic and term fees, use of Penn academic facilities, on-campus housing, two meals a day Monday-Friday, two meals on Sunday (no meals Saturday due to excursions/activities), extracurricular activities and trips, student supervision.
Not included:
Non-refundable $100 application fee, travel to/from Penn’s campus, airport transfers, Pottruck Gym access (may be available for additional fee); class materials; meals eaten off campus; medical expenses; laundry; souvenirs; and personal spending money.
