Discover an amazing campus at the University of Michigan, and learn to be independent with the help of our incredible staff. Famous for its gigantic football stadium, proximity to Tigers games, comedy showcases, and more, Michigan is an incredible place to spend your summer.
Our home on campus is Mosher-Jordan Hall. You will be a part of a dynamic community of students and staff who live together in one residence hall.
Whether you're watching a movie or working on a group project, it's great to live with your friends. And if you have any questions, your Resident Counselor (RC) lives down the hall and is there for you 24/7.
Eat in the new Hill Dining Center. Enjoy three meals every weekday, and two on weekends, while on campus. Choose from daily options that include hearth oven pizza, grilled sandwiches, burger bar, wok station, and salad bar. Are you a vegetarian? Do you have food allergies? Special diets are not a problem.
Our RCs are committed to the support and supervision of Summer Discovery students. Daily sign-ins and room checks are mandated for your safety. You are free to walk around campus and Ann Arbor (our 'home area') in small groups. If you have a question, RCs are on duty to help.
Not feeling well? Summer Discovery staff make all medical appointments, accompany students to medical facilities, obtain prescription medications, and notify parents after medical visits. Appointments are made with University Health Service or UM Mott Children's Hospital.
There are so many great opportunities on and off campus to help you stay fit and have fun this summer. Take a study break and enjoy the extraordinary athletic and recreational facilities at the University of Michigan. You have access to them all.
The University of Michigan is in the heart of Ann Arbor; so much so, you can’t tell where one ends and the other begins. Stores like Urban Outfitters, Jimmy John’s, Walgreens, and CVS are just a short walk away. The many restaurants and boutiques, and multiple movie theaters are all conveniently located. Come see why our Michigan students love this place.
Ann Arbor has a “small town,” Midwestern feel, but offers all the opportunities found in a big city. Do you have a passion for the arts? Ann Arbor is home to many popular summer festivals showcasing music, theater and art. Are you a sports fan? “Go Blue!” Experience the intensity of the Michigan spirit. It’s all included in your tuition.
3 week and 2 week students participate in many but not all activities listed.
