Academics - Sports Management

Sport Management

At Summer Discovery, our eye is on the ball in giving you, the high school student, an introductory overview into how sports organizations develop off-field strategies to promote on-field success in this billion-dollar industry. Our exciting program provides you with a home-field advantage to understanding why some teams succeed (while others fail) by examining various case studies and simulation exercises. You will take away valuable knowledge as you will see sports, and yourself, in an entirely new light.

Unique opportunities offered by Summer Discovery

Through the Sports Management courses at Summer Discovery, you will have your head in the game as you learn straightforward approaches to improving your strategic thinking skills. Throughout the program, students will engage in a host of real-world case studies and scenarios designed to encourage them to apply course-related content. It’s a win-win all around. Our courses are geared toward high school students and specified to fit the learning styles considered most effective for young adults.

Our hands-on Sports Management Program allows students to:

  • Think more strategically
  • Understand how to take a more critical, well-reasoned perspective on sports in America and the world
  • Learn to develop transferable skills which include decision-making, creativity, communication and presentation
  • …and much more!

By having a broader understanding of the relevant issues and strategies in the sports industry today, you, as a student, will have an advantage over your peers. Your experience at Summer Discovery will make you a more well-rounded, knowledgeable individual with enhanced academic and life skills.

“Sport Management was great, largely thanks to a great teacher who was invested in the class and enriched our understanding in sport management.”

- Jonathan Steinberg; Montreal, Canada

“I loved the variety of after-class activities available. It really helped me bond with my new friends more. This experience helped me gain new friends around the world and forced me to step outside of my comfort zone.”
