Payment 

The $100 Application Fee must accompany the application for acceptance and is non-refundable, and not applicable to tuition. Upon notification of acceptance into the program, an online enrollment with applicable program deposit of $1,500, payable by credit card (for a 3.5% surcharge) or by electronic check (e-check), is required within 10 days to secure enrollment. The balance of the tuition, refundable fees, and fees is invoiced by email, and is due by April 1. Final tuition payment is payable by credit card (for a 3.5% surcharge), electronic check (e-check), or wire transfer. Credit card payment fees and any other bank charges incurred are the responsibility of the student/parent/guardian. Summer Discovery will credit only the actual payment in US dollars credited to Summer Discovery by The First National Bank of Long Island.

  • $100 Application Fee due at application
  • $1,500 Deposit due at enrollment if enrolled prior to April 1, 2023
  • Tuition Balance due April 1, 2023 if enrolled prior to April 1, 2023
  • Total Tuition due at enrollment if enrolling after April 1, 2023

Full payment is due upon enrollment for students who enroll after April 1.


Fees 

  • Student Technology Fee of $95 is invoiced upon enrollment ($115 for UC Santa Barbara program).
  • International Student Registration Fee
    • All international students living outside the United States and attending a residential program in the U.S., will be assessed a non-refundable International Registration Fee of $359. This fee includes U.S. health/medical insurance coverage (with deductible) while attending Summer Discovery, plus airport transfers with meet/assist in the U.S., including a letter of introduction to assist with obtaining a short-stay visitors travel document or a B1/B2 visa.

    • All international students living outside the United States and attending a program in the U.S. as a commuter, will be assessed a non-refundable International Registration Fee of $219. This fee includes U.S. health/medical insurance coverage (with deductible) while attending Summer Discovery and a letter of introduction to assist with obtaining a short-stay visitors travel document or a B1/B2 visa.


Cancellations 

The balance of the tuition, fees, and airline fees (if applicable) are due by April 1, or upon enrollment if enrolling after April 1. Full payment must be received by April 1 to guarantee enrollment status. All cancellations must be submitted in writing to SUMMER DISCOVERY.  

  • Cancellation for any reason prior to Feb 1, 2023 will result in a full refund minus the application fee and any tuition travel protection (after the free look period).

  • $500 cancellation fee after Feb 1 until April 1 plus the application fee, any tuition travel protection (after the free look period), and the cost of any non-refundable airline ticket issued by Musiker Travel.
  • $1,500 cancellation fee after April 1 until May 1 plus the application fee, any tuition travel protection (after the free look period), and the cost of any non-refundable airline ticket issued by Musiker Travel.
  • $2,500 cancellation fee after May 1 until June 1 plus the application fee, any tuition travel protection (after the free look period), and the cost of any non-refundable airline ticket issued by Musiker Travel. 
  • There are no refunds for cancellation after June 1. 


Campus Change Fees 

The following fees will be charged for any SUMMER DISCOVERY campus change. All campus and/or program date changes must be submitted in writing to SUMMER DISCOVERY.  

  • $750 change fee from May 1 prior to June 1.
  • After June 1, program changes are not permitted. 
  • Campus changes are subject to availability.

Program Date Change Fees

The following fees will be charged for any SUMMER DISCOVERY program date change. All campus and/or program date changes must be submitted in writing to SUMMER DISCOVERY.  

  • $500 change fee from May 1 prior to June 1. 
  • After June 1, program changes are not permitted. 
  • Program changes are subject to availability.

TUITION PAYMENT OPTIONS 

Tuition payment may be made by eCheck (for no additional fee), Credit Card (for a 3.5% surcharge), Wire Transfer, traditional Bank Check or Money Order. See Details below.

Please note: Airport Transfer Fees will be adjusted/removed once the student's Transportation Form is submitted.

  • eCheck Payments (No Fee Electronic Payment Method)
    Payment by eCheck must be made in US dollars using a US bank account. Account details, including routing number (ABA) and checking account number and other information is required to complete this payment transaction. There is no fee for paying by eCheck.
  • Credit Card Payments (3.5% Surcharge)
    Payment is accepted by Major Credit Card for a 3.5% surcharge to cover the cost of credit card acceptance, that is non-refundable and not-applicable to tuition. Accepted Credit Cards include VISA, MasterCard, and American Express.
  • Wire Transfer Payments

Conditions of Enrollment for Residential programs

SUMMER DISCOVERY does not discriminate in any of its policies, procedures and practices on the basis of race, religion, national or ethnic origin, or sex.

Students should be covered to protect them against loss/theft of baggage or personal belongings. SUMMER DISCOVERY is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.

SUMMER DISCOVERY may use photographs, videotapes, and testimonials of students taken during the program.

The tuition and fees quoted here in are based on tariffs, costs of operations, insurance rates, energy costs, fuel prices, currency rates, and tuition fees as of September 1, 2020 and are subject to adjustment prior to commencement of the program.

SUMMER DISCOVERY reserves the right to limit enrollment and/or cancel any course or academy due to registration levels.

SUMMER DISCOVERY is the trade name of Musiker Discovery Programs, Inc. and is conducted in cooperation with the UCLA and UCSB Conference Services, UCLA Extension, UCLA and UCSB Summer Sessions, University of Michigan Conferences and Seminars, The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, University of Pennsylvania College for Liberal and Professional Studies, University of Pennsylvania Hospitality Service, the Georgetown University School For Summer and Continuing Education, and Cambridge University. UCLA Conference Services are solely responsible for the housing and food services provided within the UCLA residence complex and therefore assumes no responsibility for provision of services other than those described above. UCSB Conference Services are solely responsible for the housing and food services provided within the UCSB residence complex and therefore assumes no responsibility for provision of services other than those described above. The University of Michigan Conferences and Seminars, and the Division of Housing and University and Unions are solely responsible for the housing and food services provided at the University of Michigan. The University of Michigan assumes no responsibility for provision of services other than those noted above. Georgetown University School For Summer and Continuing Education is solely responsible for organizing the academic enrichment courses at Summer Discovery at Georgetown, and therefore assumes no responsibility for provision of services other than those described. The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and University of Pennsylvania Hospitality Services are solely responsible for housing and food services provided within the University of Pennsylvania residence complex and therefore assumes no responsibility for provisions of services other than those described above. University of Pennsylvania's College for Liberal and Professional Studies is solely responsible for the academic program and therefore assumes no responsibility for provisions of services other than those described.
