Experience an amazing campus at Johns Hopkins University, and learn to be independent with the help of our incredible staff. Combining the incredible academic, athletic, and cultural opportunities at Johns Hopkins, Summer Discovery will be an experience you will never forget.
While living on campus at Johns Hopkins, you will be a part of a dynamic community of students and staff who live together in one residence hall.
Whether you’re watching a movie or working on a group project, it’s great to live with your friends. And if you have any questions, your Resident Counselor (RC) lives down the hall and is there for you 24/7.
Enjoy a wide range of food at Fresh Food Cafe. Three meals are included daily, when on campus. Choose from options at the salad bar, Kettles’ Soups, comfort food at Scratch, grilled favorites at Sizzle, diverse choices at Global, Dal Forno’s pizza, Root’s Veggies, and the Deli. Are you a vegetarian? Do you have food allergies? Special diets are not a problem.
Our RCs are committed to the support and supervision of students. Daily sign-ins and room checks are mandated for your safety. If you have a question, RCs are on duty to help.
You are free to walk around campus and around the Homewood neighborhood of Baltimore. Take the JHMI shuttle between JHU’s Homewood Campus and Medical Campus, and ride the Charm City Circulator bus around central Baltimore.
Not feeling well? Summer Discovery staff make all medical appointments, accompany students to medical facilities, obtain prescription medications, and notify parents after medical visits. Appointments are made with Student Health Services or Union Memorial Hospital.
Johns Hopkins features extraordinary athletic and recreational facilities, and you have access to them all.
We are located in Northern Baltimore on Johns Hopkins’ Homewood Campus. Stores like Starbucks, Chipotle, and Barnes & Noble are just a short walk away. The many restaurants, supermarkets, and coffee shops are all conveniently located. Come see why our Johns Hopkins’ students love this neighborhood.
Baltimore is a great starting place to explore several great East Coast cities. Visit Washington, D.C., Annapolis, and Hershey Park.
