Unique Pre-College Career Development Programs at Haverford

Within these new and innovative programs, students will take a deeper-dive into their career area of choice, while learning marketable, in-demand career skills through intensive classroom and real-world experiences.  Our engaging, hands-on curriculum is project-based and brings corporate and career exposure to the classroom. But the fun isn't just had in the classroom! We partner with speakers and corporations to take YOU into the corporate arena to get first-hand exposure to career experiences. 

You'll spend your time outside of class at one of America's leading liberal arts colleges just 13 miles from Philadelphia. The serene and stimulating 200-acre campus is known for its award-winning landscaping and architecture. But beyond its beauty, Haverford houses a diverse, intellectual community with over 50 academic, residential, and athletics buildings.

Campus Life and Activities

After class, take a walk through the vibrant campus or connect with friends at a nearby cozy coffee shop, cafe, or restaurants. Shop the specialty shops that line the streets of Haverford Square or visit the Ardmore Farmers Market for some fresh treats. Off-campus, students will have the opportunity to see Franklin Square, the Philadelphia Museum of Art (complete with Rocky Steps), visit Hershey Park, and take in a Phillies game.

Dates and Tuition

Program Details

Living: Our home on campus is Barclay Hall and Lloyd Hall at Haverford College. In Barclay Hall, students live in single or double rooms with hallway bathrooms. In Lloyd Hall, students live in six-person suites with a common room and shared bathroom. Every room includes a bed, dresser, study desk, closet, and free Wi-Fi. Lounges, and laundry facilities are in our residence hall and the Summer Discovery Office is close by. We are located only a short walk from the Dining Center and academic buildings.

Dining: Unique to Summer Discovery is our all-inclusive meal plan. Enjoy three meals on week days, 2 meals on weekends, while on campus in the Dining Center (DC). Choose from daily options at the salad bar, pizza station, dessert bar, and more. Are you a vegetarian? Do you have food allergies? Special diets are not a problem.

Tuition includes: Term fees, academic program, 3 meals daily while on campus (2 on weekends), recreational sports, activities and trips.

Not included: Application fee, $95 student ID/technology fee, airfare, airport transfers from/to PHL only (available for $85 each way), class materials, course supplements, linens, meals eaten off campus, medical expenses, laundry, souvenirs, and personal spending money.

Commuter tuition includes: Seven (7) consecutive days of academic programming, term fees, comprehensive welcome orientation and ice-breakers, lunch, and academic field trips and site visits. Note: Commuter students are not permitted to attend other evening or off-campus activities and excursions.
