How Do Courses Work? For each campus, you may build your own schedule (1 course in the morning, 1 course in the afternoon) or choose an Academy where the courses are packaged together for you (Academy also includes Inc. Young Entrepreneurs).

Screenwriting for Film & TV Academy

This intensive program will teach you the important concepts of screenwriting: structure, formatting, character development, plot, subplot, arc, and dialogue. Workshop sessions will focus on the elements of writing scripts that film and/or television studios will love. Professionally written successful (and unsuccessful)scripts will be dissected. Write your way to self-discovery (and perhaps a little fame) in this intensive hands-on program. Please note some R rated films will be shown. Note: This program meets daily (Monday - Thursday) morning and afternoon. 

Who Should Take This Course? Budding screenwriters who are interested in having their inclass work critiqued by, and brainstorm with professional Hollywood producers, screenwriters, and fellow students.
Highlights The program is coordinated by a former writer for the Walt Disney Co., a graduate of the UCLA School for Theater, Film & Television, and author of 2 screenplays currently under development with major Hollywood Studios. Field trips to film and television studios and in-class screenings are an integral part of the program.

Courses & Academies This course is one of our Academies. Academies meet 4 or 5 times a week, both morning and afternoon, with a lunch break. Most Academies have homework, papers, presentations, and tests that are graded. Students are typically provided a Pass/No Pass grade. Students receive a Certificate of Completion from the university at the end of the program. Due to the time commitment involved with this academy, no other classes may be taken in conjunction with the Screenwriting for Film & TV Academy.
