The Wharton Essentials of Entrepreneurship (formerly the Global Young Leaders Academy) provides a two-week intensive summer experience at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. This module adopts an entrepreneurial theme to give students a taste of accounting, marketing, management, and finance knowledge. Students will work in teams to create a pitch for an early-stage startup.
Who Should Take This Course? High school students with little to no business background who are looking to advance their entrepreneurial mindset.
Highlights Attend lectures and presentations from notable Wharton faculty, lecturers and PhD students in Wharton’s Jon M. Huntsman Hall. Work in teams to create and present an original final project, which is judged by Wharton faculty and business professionals. Advance their understanding of business through lectures, recitations and simulations.Explore historic Philadelphia and experience life in a college dormitory on an Ivy League campus.
Courses & Academies The Essentials of Entrepreneurship Program is an all-day, intensive two-week summer program. Class runs from 9 AM - 5 PM and students will be assigned homework and team projects outside of class hours. Students will receive a certificate of completion from Wharton at the end of the program.
