Through a study of our governmental institutions in action, students gain an understanding of our national identity, constitutional heritage, civic values, individual rights and responsibilities. We'll also discuss what’s happening now, including today’s headlines, civil liberties and their effect on you.
Who Should Take This Course? This course is suitable for students who are interested in American social studies.
Highlights Class sessions incorporate primary sources, guest speakers, role-playing, debates, and panel discussions to encourage student participation and promote active citizenship in a democracy.
Courses & Academies This class is one of our Michigan courses. Courses are single classes that are taken in the morning or afternoon. Students who take our courses select two courses to take during each session. Students will select a morning and afternoon course. Students will receive a certificate of completion from Summer Discovery.
