Key Issues In Sports
Explore important issues in sports, including doping, violence, college sports reform, international sports, race, and gender. Enhance critical thinking skills while gaining a historical and ethical framework. Taught by top-teaching UT Sport Management instructor.
Chris Quinn, M.Ed., is the equipment manager for the Texas Baseball team. This is his first season with the team but 6th season on the equipment staff at The University of Texas. Prior to the 2021-2022 season, he spent 5 years with the Track & Field/Cross Country and Soccer teams. He is responsible for all aspects of designing, ordering, maintaining, storing and distributing equipment and apparel for Texas Baseball, as well as supervising a staff of student managers.
Quinn began working for The University of Texas in 2005 as a volunteer student assistant with the Men’s Basketball team. After 2 years volunteering, he became a student manager where he continued to work for 5 years while completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management and his Master’s Degree in General Kinesiology.
After graduating in 2012, Quinn began his professional career at The University of Wisconsin as an Olympic Sports equipment manager. During his 4 years at Wisconsin, he oversaw equipment operations for 14 sports including Softball, Track & Field, Volleyball, and Wrestling. Chris and his wife, Stephanie, have one daughter, Ophelia.
