Building Bots: A Robotics Journey
In this class, you will build your very own robot while you expand your knowledge of computer science. This comprehensive course provides students with a strong foundation in robotics, combining theoretical concepts with practical skills for robot design and control. Students will learn the basics of modeling, design, planning, and control of robot systems. Topics include planar (twodimensional) and spatial (three-dimensional) spaces, motion planning, mechanism design for manipulators and mobile robots, rigid body dynamics, control design algorithms, actuators and sensors, task modeling, human-machine interface, and embedded software. Throughout the course, students will work on various projects and assignments that will challenge their problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
