Commuter students typically join the program Monday-Thursday during the 3 week session and Monday-Friday during the 2 week session, for morning and afternoon classes and optional on-campus afternoon activities. Students arrive on campus by 9:30am and depart by 5:00pm.
Commuter students will be provided a Bruin-Card to load money on for lunch, or they may bring their own lunch to eat on campus. Commuter students have limited access to UCLA's recreational facilities and the Summer Discovery office and game room.
Commuter students are invited to attend field trips associated with their classes, during or outside of class time. Students may participate in evening workshops, college admissions, and college life seminars typically offered once a week.
Please note: the commuter program is limited to local students who live full-time in the Los Angeles area, within 1 hour commuting time. Students are not permitted to attend other evening, weekend, or off-campus activities and excursions.
