Gain the skills and training needed to become a successful entrepreneur.

Get ready to stake your claim in the metaverse. Students will explore emerging entrepreneurial business models within the emerging web 3.0 ecosystem. In this interactive, engaging course you will: 

  • Explore leading startups and what they offer 
  • Research publicly traded corporations who are shaping the metaverse 
  • Review case studies and predictions by industry experts 
  • Debate ethical implications and impact on society 
  • Investigate the technology of augmented reality (A.R.), virtual reality (V.R.) 
  • Unpack the role non-fungible token (N.F.T.) will play in the metaverse 

Building the metaverse will be a collaborative effort between brands and consumers. Entrepreneurs who successfully engage with consumers in the metaverse will emerge as the winners.

This course is suitable for future-focused and innovative students who want to discover if a career in the intersection of technology and business is the right path for them. 

Program Highlights

Core entrepreneurial skills will be developed alongside leadership, innovation, and tech literacy through interactive group activities. Students will collaborate with their peers to analyze potential strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats for entrepreneurs hoping to stake their claim in the Web 3.0 metaverse.

Collaborative learning lets students tackle real business problems.

Students will practice their entrepreneurial skills in real-world case studies and develop a SWOT analysis for the future of the Metaverse in their chosen area to support a simulated investment option. They will work in teams to take on the role of futurist/venture capitalist and conduct research, utilize forecasting and opportunity recognition, analyze business opportunities, and learn to make informed decisions to satisfy stakeholders. They will debate whether technology is disrupting established business models. They will learn fundamental concepts in Web 3.0 tech literacy, business, entrepreneurship, and more importantly, put them into practice by creating an overall business strategy with collaborative support from their peers and instruction from industry professionals

Explore career paths while networking with business leaders.

Experienced industry leaders from the tech business world will meet with students as guest speakers and provide personal insights from their careers as successful business professionals. The Road to College career exploration will demonstrate multiple paths to reaching a career as an innovative business disruptor.  

There will be three Road to College and Career Panels with the following themes:

  • Road to College - Pick the brain of current business students focused on tech and entrepreneurship
  • Life After College – Engage with current graduate students and recent grads who jump right into the startup eco systems  
  • Path to Careers – Learn about the road to a career in business and entrepreneurship from established, successful professionals  

These panels are designed to give students exposure to each level of the path to a career in business from real-life professionals. They will learn from undergraduate students about their academic experience in college, hear from early-level career professionals in distinct aspects of the industry, and engage with successful innovation leaders
