Live with your friends on one of the world’s oldest campuses. Become more independent with the support of our amazing staff.
Our home is Orchard Court Residence Hall at Murray Edwards College, one of the 31 colleges that make up Cambridge University. You will be a part of a dynamic community of students and staff who live together in one residence hall.
Whether you’re watching a movie or working on a group project, it’s great to live with your friends. And if you have any questions, your resident counselor (RC) lives down the hall and is there for you 24/7.
Eat in the modern Dome Dining Hall. Enjoy two meals daily, and one on weekends, while on campus. Choose from daily options at the salad bar, pasta counter, dessert bar, and more. Are you a vegetarian? Do you have food allergies? Special diets are not a problem.
For lunch, explore restaurants, cafes, and sandwich shops in Cambridge or enjoy a riverside picnic. (Lunch is not included in tuition.)
Our RCs are committed to the support and supervision of Summer Discovery students. Daily sign-ins and room checks are mandated for your safety. You are free to walk around campus and the city of Cambridge (our ‘home area’) in small groups. If you have a question, RCs are on duty to help.
Not feeling well? Summer Discovery staff make all medical appointments, accompany students to medical facilities, obtain prescription medications, and notify parents after medical visits. Appointments are made with Huntingdon Road Surgery or Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
There are many great opportunities on campus to help you stay fit and have fun this summer. From taking a study break and enjoying the extraordinary athletics to spending time at the sports center, Cambridge University offers you a host of opportunities to make the most of your summer. And you have access to them all.
We are located in the traditional but trendy University City of Cambridge. Stores like Top Shop, the Apple Store, and Starbucks are just a short walk away. With over 50 restaurants, cafés, shops, and markets, everything is convenient. Come see why our Cambridge students love this city.
