Shh! We've had lots of studying here at UCSB for midterms this past week. From marketing to medicine, our students applied their knowledge and skills in all of their classes. On Thursday, our bright RMP students presented their work at the GRITX talks, where they stood in front of a crowd and spoke about their research projects. We are constantly amazed at their capability and knowledge! Great job to all of our presenters!
On Thursday we held our first "Coffee House" in the formal lounge where students were welcome to visit, drink some coffee/tea, grab a few snacks, and study with their peers. Overall it was a great success and we are proud of all the handwork exhibited by our students. Once the hardwork was over, it was time for a reward! On friday, all of our students tested their skills at the ice skating rink (some of them even surprised us with their figure skating skills)! On Saturday, many of us enjoyed a lazy beach day at Carpinteria Beach, or getting a thrill at Magic Mountain! Upon our return, we tried our luck at black jack and craps at our Casino Night!
Today, our marine science class will be kayaking and snorkeing at the beautiful Channel Islands. Others will be going to a Dodgers Game, and many of us will be off-roading at the beach Hummer Tours! We finish off our night with some friedly competition at "The Price is Right" in the formal lounge. Tomorrow we welcome the final week for our four week students with bingo, trivia, capture the flag and finish off the week showcasing UCSB's best at our annual talent show!
