Hi Friends and Family,
Our long weekend was action packed with fun activities and exploration! On Friday morning the students took in Austin’s glorious outdoor sights. We made trips to the Botanical Gardens in Zilker Park that features a butterfly garden, a tea room, and plenty of plants! Students also got to chose between going to the famous Barton Springs natural pool or the San Marcos outlet mall. At night we all reconvened to roller skate before ending our long and awesome Friday night.
On Saturday the students either viewed a solar power car race at Austin’s Grand Prix or they went out on the town on South Congres street, eating at Gododdy’s or the famous Homeslice pizza place! Lastly, another group of students chose to go to Soccer Zone and get their competitive side on while a few playing soccer games.
To finish our weekend off students went to Schliterbahn, the largest waterpark in Texas. This crazy cool waterpark features slides, a lazy river, and tons of restaurants. After such a busy night students were encouraged to finish any homework they had left over and go out to eat at one of Austin’s two favorite restaurants: Torchey’s Taco Place or Whataburger. Before coming in we also took a walk to TCBY, a small yogurt place off of Guadalupe street.
After all this fun, students were exhausted in the best way and ready to turn in and get ready for the upcoming school week. Students will be returning to classes tomorrow through Thursday for the second academic week of our program. This week students will be continuing learning skills such as computer programming, digital marketing, clinical duties, and clothing construction!
Stay tuned to hear more about our academic week this Thursday on the next edition of our blog!
