We’ve had a great week at Penn Summer Discovery! Our Pre-College students have completed orientation and started their classes. The students were also able to take part in various activities including a trip Shake Shack and a chance to see some of the hottest summer blockbusters including Ocean’s 8, Jurassic World, and the highly anticipated Incredibles 2!
Yesterday, we traveled to Washington, D.C. to visit the National Mall, the Smithsonian, and the Lincoln and Washington Monuments. The students were able to take in the nation’s capital and experience incredible exhibits in museums ranging from Air and Space to the National Art Gallery and plenty in between! An RC led trip to the Lincoln Memorial gave students the opportunity to not only this iconic monument but also the Washington Monument up close and personal along with the World War II Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, and countless incredible views of the National Mall. The students were even able to get a postcard worthy view of the White House!
We have much to look forward to this week. Our Academy students are arriving today and we are thrilled to welcome over 300 students to our Penn Summer Discovery family! We will also be celebrating the 4th of July in true American style with a trip to a Philles baseball game! This weekend, we plan on making the most of the summer heat with a trip to the beach with the Pre-College and Academy students. With even more activities to come, here’s to another memorable week in Philadelphia!
