It’s hard to believe we are already halfway through our second session here at Summer Discovery UCLA! The students have called the Hedrick Summit Suites home for one week now, and there is definitely a pervasive sense of everyone feeling comfortable and settled. This weekend, we got the students out of the resdience hall as our schedules were jam packed with exciting activities from morning until evening.
On Friday after classes, students had the opportunity to sign up for some exciting trips around our home area. We offered group-walks to the UCLA Scultpure Garden, and hosted an on campus Ice Cream social and Ping Pong Tournament. We capped off the night with our famous Summer Discovery UCLA Casion Night.
Saturday, we offered five fun filled activities for students to sign up for: I love LA Day (Downtown Disney + Los Angeles Angels), Universal Studios and Disneyland.
Sunday ended our busy weekend filled with trips for students and staff. We offered the Fowler Museum, Santa Monica, Chinatown, Century City, 3rd Street Prominade, Speed Zone and Karaoke for Pizza. Many students also took advantage of Westwood, including stopping by In-N-Out Burger, Diddy Riese and other famous Westwood Village spots.
Overall we had an amazing weekend, and we can’t wait to jump right into week two and see what other excitement lies in store. Thank you for keeping up with our adventures, we look forward to updating you later in the week!
