Back to List

The Cambridge Underground July 14, 2019

Today students had their choice of two excursions:  Oxford or Windsor.  The twelve students who visited Windsor were delighted to see the Royal Standard flying over the castle which indicated that the Queen was indeed in residence.  They toured the Castle visiting state rooms and St. George's Chapel where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were married last year.  After the castle visit, students were able to walk around the town of Windsor for some shopping and dinner before boarding the bus back to Cambridge.

Meanwhile, the rest of the students visited the other college town, Oxford.  In addition to shopping and dining, a group of students visted Christ Church College where several scenes from Harry Potter were filmed.  Some of our students were even heroes--a little boy was crying along the side of the street and no one else stopped to see why.  But our students saw him, found out he had gotten separated from his grandmother and called the police!  That's the Summer Discovery spirit!

Students will need their rest as tomorrow is another full day with trips to London and Dover!
