Summer Discovery Michigan: Welcome! (Or Welcome Back)

Welcome back to the blog for the second session of Summer Discovery here at the University of Michigan! For those of you who are returning following the first session, we are so glad to have you with us again.  For those of you who are new or coming from the UCLA program, we are thrilled to have you.

This weekend, the Michigan 5-weekers and UCLA/Michigan Combo students ventured to Chicago where they enjoyed the sights and activities that the Windy City has to offer. The activities and sights included the following:

  • SHEDD Aquarium
  • Navy Pier
  • Seadog Lakefront Speedboat Tour
  • Northwestern University Campus Tour
  •  Michigan Avenue
  •  Millennium Park (Bean)
  •  Dinner at Hard Rock Café
  • 360 Chicago Observatory at the John Hancock Building & TILT Experience
  •  The University of Notre Dame

Yesterday, we received most of our new coming students and had an Orientation to get students prepped for an amazing two weeks. Today will mark the first day of classes for this session. Students will meet their instructors, receive class syllabi, and gain a better sense of what they will be learning while here at Michigan. We look forward to sharing pictures and more blog postings during our time together, and we encourage you to continue checking in to keep up with the daily adventures! Go Blue!
