It’s hard to believe we are almost done with our second week here at The University of Michigan! Throughout the week our students have worked countless hours preparing for presentations, studying for final exams, and completing projects. Outside of the classroom, our students have had many opportunities to enjoy their last week here. On Monday, a group of students went on an official tour of the University of Michigan, while some shopped until they dropped at the Briarwood Mall. Other students completed puzzles and other tasks at Clueless Escape Room, and others walked to the infamous Zingerman’s Deli. At night, we had students play against each other in Whirly Ball.
On Tuesday we took our final group of students on one more Big House Tour, while others practiced their drive at the Golf Driving Range. We also took another trip to AirTime Trampoline Park and later that night we hosted another soulful Karaoke Night!
Wednesday was a blast as students had the opportunity to sign up for Zap Zone Laser Tag, a trip to Cupcake Station and 7x7 Flag Football. We capped off the night with an important Departure meeting for our students. Afterward, we were graced with a fun, hilarious Hypnotist show where some students got the chance to be placed under deep sleep.
On Thursday, we ended our busy week with a number of activities to choose from. The summer heat brought about an opportunity for students to cool off at Fuller Pool, or to visit Iorio’s Gelato once again. Some students took another walk to Zingerman’s Deli and that night we held Glow in the Dark Frisbee and a Late-Night Bingo Party!
As we head into our final days together, it’s hard to believe that all of us will be heading home and parting ways. We will certainly make the most of our remaining time together here at Summer Discovery! As always, thank you for reading and stay tuned for one final blog to come.
