It’s hard to believe we are already halfway through our second session here at Summer Discovery Michigan! The students have called the Mosher-Jordan Residence Hall home for one week now, and there is definitely a pervasive sense of everyone feeling comfortable and settled. This weekend, we got the students out of the resdience hall as our schedules were jam packed with exciting activities from morning until evening.
On Friday after classes, students had the opportunity to sign up for some exciting trips around our home area. We offered group-walks to Iorio’s Gelato, Pinball Pete’s and the famous Zingerman’s Deli, while also hosting a Shabbat dinner for our BBYO students. We capped off the night with two activities for students to choose from, Bowling or Zap Zone Arcade!
Saturday, we offered five fun filled activities for students to sign up for: The Toledo Zoo, Rolling Hills Waterpark, Spicer Orchard Berry Picking, Sportway, and The Henry Ford Museum. That night, we took an all SD trip to the RAVE movie theater where students chose between The Lion King and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Sunday ended our busy weekend with two all-day trips for students and staff. While many students enjoyed a full day of thrilling roller coasters and rides at Cedar Point Amusement park, others got to live on the edge and rock out at The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Overall we had an amazing weekend, and we can’t wait to jump right into week two and see what other excitement lies in store. Thank you for keeping up with our adventures, we look forward to updating you later in the week!
