Summer Discovery at Concordia is gearing up for an amazing weekend after one more productive day of classes! On Monday, our students participated in Orientation. This is where they got to learn more about the program, staff, and campus. They also got to take a tour of campus and visit their classrooms for the next 2 weeks. After orientation, we took a trip to Target for students to get any items they may need during their time on campus. Later in the evening we offered a wide variety of games for students to bond and get to know each other, as well as get to know staff members.
Tuesday was our first day of classes. Students and instructors were both excited to start class and begin learning new ideas and concepts this summer. After class, we took our students to Fashion Island, where they were able to explore the local area through shopping and dining at local restaurants. When we returned to campus, students were able to watch Game 6 of the NBA Finals, where The Bucks beat the Suns in a nail-bitter game. We ended the night with ice creams and games in the Courtyard.
After class on Wednesday, students were able to choose from a variety of activities. We offered students the option to go to the Fitness Center, Bracelet Making, Disc Golf or a trip to Starbucks. Later in the evening, our wonderful RCs offered their own activities for their RC Group. Each group had their own unique activity and the students really enjoyed getting to know each other.
Today, we will be offering students the option to participate in Yoga, Corn Hole, Volleyball and Tie Dye after class. After dinner, students can go on a hike at Turtle Rock or participate in Painting and Pizza, where students can create their own masterpiece and hang out with friends.
This weekend we have a wide variety of trips for students to attend and create great memories on, including Cookie Decorating, Movie Night, LA Day, and Huntington Beach. Check back in on Monday to hear about what we did this weekend!
