Welcome back to the blog for the second session of Summer Discovery here at Haverford College! For those of you who are returning following the first session, we are so glad to have you with us again. And for those of you who are joining us for Session 2.2 of the program, we are thrilled to have you.
This weekend our 4-week students were able to travel to Suburban Square, where they were able to explore the local area, go shopping, and explore local restaurants. Students also got to participate in a movie night on campus, which was a great time had by all. We hosted a community service activity, where students and staff created backpacks with back to school supplies. We checked in with our Director Jason to ask what he enjoyed most about this weekend. Here's what he had to say:
We have been so welcomed by Haverford College and the surrounding community, that it was so nice to be able to give back to such a welcoming and supportive community.
Today, we received most of our new coming students. Tomorrow we will have Orientation, where we will get students prepped for an amazing 2 weeks. Wednesday will mark the first day of classes for this session. Students will meet their teachers, receive syllabi, and gain a better sense of what they will be learning while here at Haverford College. We look forward to sharing pictures and more blog postings during our time together, and we encourage you to continue checking in to keep up with the daily adventures!
