What an awesome weekend our CU Boulder students had! On Friday night, we went to the local amusement center, Fat Cats. Bowling, glow-in-the-dark mini-golf, arcade games and a laser maze provided for a fun-filled night. After a delicious brunch in our dining hall, we loaded the buses and traveled north to Rocky Mountain National Park. Our trail covered a gorgeous section of the 415 square-mile park. The scenic route passed by Bear Lake and Dream Lake, ending at the picturesque Emerald Lake. It was even beautiful in the rain, which didn’t stop us! After we returned to campus, a lot of students got to walk across the street from our residence hall to view Liquid Sky: Avicii at Fiske Planetarium. Today’s weather was the complete opposite from yesterday’s: tons of sunshine for our visit to the Denver Zoo. We saw giraffes, elephants, seals, gorillas, among others, and even got to feed some birds! Following the zoo, students explored downtown Denver’s 16th Street Mall.
Students are looking forward to getting back into their classrooms this week, as well as the many activities we have planned. Game night, henna tattoos, shopping, a Rockies game, an escape room, rock climbing and a Shakespeare festival are some of the activities for them to look forward to this week. Week 2 should be a blast!
