New York - Blog- July 14 Day 16

Hello Parents!

We have had such an amazing weekend! Friday was a great start to an exciting three days of fun. Some of us finished up our days at our internships, while our global citizen class students flew back home. It was sad to see them go, but it was time well spent.

That afternoon we geared up at Area 53 in Brooklyn to play a few rounds of laser tag, after a filling dinner: pizza. cheese sticks, salad, and wings. Things got competitive, but we all were laughing and having so much fun by the end of it.

Saturday was a beautifully sunny day, we had to spend it outdoors. Half of us headed to the Bronx Zoo, while the rest of us spent the morning visiting Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. Both were full of exciting and educational sightseeing. After spending our mornings apart, we re-grouped for a nice dinner and arcade games at Dave & Busters in Time Square.

Sunday was a calm day. A group of us headed to Prospect Park for a fun culinary experience at Smorgusburg. While others stayed behind to complete the final touches on our journal entries. After, some of us were given an exclusive backstage look at the NBC studios at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. Being able to walk the halls where so many A listers have walked before was so fascinating. Finally, we ended the day with our weekly tradition of going to the movies; a great way to wind down and get ready for another week at our internships.

It was a great weekend overall, time well spent. We are looking forward to what we get to bond over the next week and into the weekend!

Have a great week!
