Happy Sunday!
We hope you all had an amazing 4th of July weekend, because we sure did! Friday kick started the weekend off on a great start - we saw a Broadway show called Be More Chill - the plot kept us on our toes and touched our hearts. Each of us having our own personal favorite character, but the overwhelmingly favorite being Micheal, best friend of the main character Jeremy. Goes to show, we are all in favor of a great friendship. Much like what we here at Summer Discovery are gaining, a best friend everyone loves.
Saturday morning we continued the fun with a visit to Coney Island. The sun was beaming, making it a perfect jumpstart to our day outdoors. We ate hot dogs at the original Nathan's, rode roller coasters, and ate plenty of soft serve ice cream. We headed back to our dorms for a short nap and a quick shower before we headed to Circle Line Tours for a boat ride around Manhattan. We managed to get some amazing photos of the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline that everyone was raving about. After a long day in the sun we were treated to some Joe’s Pizza for a late night snack - which was a perfect end to an amazing day!
Sunday morning was a late start to a continuation of a fun packed weekend. Some of us headed out to Citi Field for a Mets vs. Phillies game, while others took a nice stroll through SoHo to get some therapeutic shopping in. After everyone's morning wrapped up, we took time to relax and get our journal entries done for our Career Development Series course that were due tonight at midnight. We then regrouped and headed off to the movies. Some of us watched Toy Story 4, while others saw Spider-Man: Far from Home, and Rocketman. We then had our RC meeting and headed to our rooms to get ready for a brand new week at our internship/class.
Goodnight from us all!
