Michigan: Closing Time

It’s hard to believe we are almost done with our second week here at University of Michigan! Throughout the week our students have worked countless hours preparing for presentations, studying for final exams, taking SAT diagnostic exams, and completing projects.

Outside of the classroom, our students have had many opportunities to enjoy their last week here. On Monday, one group of students went on an official tour of the University of Michigan, while some shopped until they dropped at the Briarwood Mall. Other students completed puzzles and other tasks at Clueless Escape Room, and others walked to the infamous Zingerman's deli. At night, we had students play against eachother in whirly ball, and some played trivia at our residence hall.

Tuesday afternoon kicked off with ice skating and another trip to the Clueless Escape room, followed by tie dye Tuesday, a trip to a yoga studio, and a trip to the AirTime Trampoline Park.

Wednesday was yet another active day, with a trip to Zap Zone for laser tag, a trip to a driving range, and another trip cupcake station. We all spent the evening together with SD Live watching Hypnotist Mike hypnotize some of our students, and we completed the evening with a glow in the dark Frisbee game and karaoke!

Today, our activities started to wrap up as students began to clean and pack their rooms. We had a trip to a local pool, a walk to Zingerman's Deli, a soccer tournament and a basketball tournament. Most of us then headed to the Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase for a stand up comedy show.

As we head into our final days together, it’s hard to believe that all of us will be heading home and parting ways. We will certainly make the most of our remaining time together here at Summer Discovery! As always, thank you for reading and stay tuned for one final blog to come.
