Our final weekend at Boulder was filled with adventure and exploring! Once classes were done for the week on Friday, students unwound with a few games of sand volleyball and lawn games and got a taste of college life during a “Laundry 101” session. For the students looking for a laidback night, a few different movies were offered. However, our adventurous group spent two hours at the Longmont Get Air Trampoline park. Students bounced, jumped, flipped, climbed and played games in the park.
Saturday was full of adventure in both Breckenridge and Rocky Mountain National Park. The students who explored Breckenridge rode a gondola up to almost 11,000 feet above sea level to Peak 8’s Epic Discovery Summer Park. In the adventure park, students were able to ride an alpine slide and steel roller coaster, take a ride up a scenic ski lift, play mini-golf and climb a rock wall. At Rocky Mt. State Park in Estes, our group hiked up to the beautiful Emerald Lake. Along the way, we saw Bear Lake, Dream Lake, chipmunks and many scenic views. After all that adventuring, the students relaxed in the Andrews Hall lounge watching Shrek during movie night.
Today ended our weekend with multiple adventures in Denver. After eating brunch on campus, students boarded the buses to Denver. Our group of thrill-seekers went to Elitch Gardens and rode roller coasters and water slides, while the other half of our students went to the Denver Aquarium and 16th Street Mall.
It is hard to believe that we only have a few more days on campus! But do not worry, we still have plenty of fun activities planned! Check back in on Thursday to hear about our final week!
