A Georgetown Farewell

It is hard to believe that our time here in Georgetown has already passed us by. Our students and staff have had an amazing time in and out of the classroom and it’s bittersweet to say goodbye to so many new friends.

This week has been just as enjoyable as the last, but the emotions of looking to the future and not being at Georgetown University has already started to bring sadness as students get ready to depart. Throughout the week our students have worked countless hours to finalize their presentations, prepared for final exams, took a final SAT diagnostic exam, completed projects and finished recording songs. The final evening was filled with fun as we relived our fondest memories through the SD Georgetown slide show and had our faces rocked by some performances by our SD Georgetown University Class as well as some other top-notch acts. There were also a few surprise videos including one made by Resident Counselors Jesus and Lunden about Greek life here at SD Georgetown. We finished off the night and program as we heading to our final activity, "Zava Zone" for final good-byes, fun, and games.

All in all, this summer has brought strangers to fun and laughter and ultimately friendships that will last longer than the time spent here. We will cherish the memories and photos from the past few weeks and remember all the fun and learning this amazing experience brought.

I bid you all a very fond farewell, it has been a time for the ages!
