Sports and Recreation

Unlike most urban European university campuses, UPV has a palmtree lined campus of hundreds of acres. With so much land and open space, the sports and athletic facilities of Universidad Politécnica de Valéncia are among the finest in all of Spain. There are nine major sport areas on campus featuring new and modern facilities that promote a full range of sports at different levels. Summer Discovery students will share these facilities with university students. Hours/days of access will vary.

Facilities and Activities

  • UPV Tennis Center Consists of four paddle tennis courts and three full-sized tennis courts that are lighted for night play.
  • UPV Swim Center With a 50m indoor heated swimming pool for lap swimming and staying in shape.
  • UPV Stadium Features athletic tracks and an artificial grass field ring for soccer and rugby as well as a field with natural grass.
  • UPV Edificio Principal de Deportes A state-of-the art athletic center and workout complex that features two weight and conditioning rooms, martial arts and aerobic rooms.
  • Pabellon Polideportivo Gymnasium UPV’s all-purpose facility includes a three story climbing wall, table-tennis room, two racquetball courts, two squash courts, three basketball courts, handball and volleyball courts.

Sports Plus Program

Summer Discovery students may play tennis, paddle tennis, racquetball, squash, soccer, swim, run, jog, shoot hoops, or just workout with weights in the state-of-the-art athletic facilities of UPV. In addition, students may also attend any of the fitness classes described below. They are offered at regular intervals throughout the summer.

  • Fun Fitness Improve your physical condition while you have a good time, a step forward to your fitness condition.
  • Aerobics Activity with low and high impact creative movements, easy to follow, with music to increase your motivation.
  • Aerogym This activity combines fitness and aerobics.
  • Muscle Toning Up Activity to achieve a balanced body development, make it stronger and more agile and flexible.
