Not included: Airport Transfers, materials, course supplements, meals, etc., as described in each individual campus' section, airfare from home city to Detroit, Chicago to Los Angeles, and Los Angeles to home city.
As a member of the "Big Ten" Athletic Conference, the University of Michigan features some of the world’s best athletic and recreational facilities. The University devotes 225 acres (more area than many entire college campuses) for recreation, including Crisler Basketball Arena and the awesome 109,901 seat Michigan Stadium, the largest on-campus football stadium in America. Summer Discovery students enjoy full U-M recreation privileges and can choose from a superb selection of facilities for practicing and playing at no charge. Just outside of Ann Arbor is a beautiful countryside with dozens of lakes for swimming, boating and outdoor recreation.
As a member of the "Pac-12" Athletic Conference, and home of the 1984 Olympic tennis and gymnastic competitions, UCLA features some of the world's finest athletic and recreational facilities. SUMMER DISCOVERY students enjoy full UCLA recreation privileges, and choose from a superb selection of facilities for practicing and playing, at no extra charge (except where noted). It is not unusual to share these courts and fields with some of the world's best athletes. Recently SUMMER DISCOVERY students have volleyed with Jimmy Connors and Stefan Edberg, run a few laps with Olympic champion Jackie Joyner Kersee, and worked-out with Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal.
