3+3 Michigan and UCLA - Curriculum & Courses

Michigan

Summer Discovery course offerings are designed around the vast resources and personnel available at the University of Michigan and surrounding area. We often use Ann Arbor and its environs as our extended classroom. Field trips related to class topics are an integral part of the academic program. Most classes are small, informal, and personal — encouraging constant student/teacher interaction. Summer Discovery @ Michigan students enroll in 2 enrichment classes. 3-week session classes meet four days per week, Monday-Thursday, with no classes on July 4th.

• Rock Band Performand Institute
• Golf
• Architectural and Graphic Design
• DiscoveryWorks Community Service

UCLA

Students attending the Michigan/UCLA program choose from 3 curricula. Students selecting Curriculum 1 select two enrichment courses (that meet Monday - Thursday for approximately 11/2 - 2 hours) from offerings that include SAT Prep, the Global Discovery Intensive English Language Program, TOEFL Prep, Writing, Psychology, Sports, Video Production, and more. Students selecting Curriculum 2 or Curriculum 3 choose a concentrated intensive program (that meets both morning and afternoon Monday - Thursday) of Screenwriting for Film & TV with a Hollywood screenwriter or DiscoveryWorks Community Service. In addition, students attend our innovative evening workshop series, “Preparing for College and Life Workshops” which meets 1 evening a week.
